With over a decade of experience documenting weddings, Masao brings a quiet, intentional presence behind the camera. His approach is shaped by a deep appreciation for natural beauty and a keen eye for composition - always searching for the perspective that tells the story best. Thoughtful and observant, he captures images that feel expressive but honest, ensuring each wedding collection resonates with meaning. He lives in a wooded corner of New England with his wife and three children, where life moves at a slower pace. When he’s not on location, he finds joy in birding with his eldest daughter, playing strategic board games with family and friends, and embracing the outdoors.

MSP Team Photographer

A collective approach ensures coverage that expands to fit the scale of each event without sacrificing quality or consistency. Whether a single photographer or a full team is needed, the experience remains fluid, refined, and attuned to the celebration at hand.

Every MSP photographer is hand-selected and trained to uphold the same balance of artistry, presence, and discretion. Each artist moves effortlessly through the day, carrying positive energy and quiet grace in turn. The details are captured, but the people - and their experience - always come first. The work speaks with a singular voice - one that values connection over choreography, depth over excess, and an instinctive understanding of timing, intuition, and trust.

A Shared Vision

An Enlightened Approach to Wedding Photography

Simply put, our team photographers - Ashlyn, Maisie, Abigail, and Masao - are highly experienced professionals who uphold the MSP standard. They have been carefully selected and trained to expand our ability to serve more couples while maintaining the same level of artistry and service. When you book a team photographer, you are still booking Mark Spooner Photography, with all the care, experience, and aesthetic consistency that comes with it. The only difference? One of our trusted team members will be behind the camera on your wedding day

How does the "team photographer" experience work?

Absolutely. One of the greatest strengths of our team is their ability to approach a wedding day with the same care and attention to detail that defines MSP. While each photographer brings their own artistic strengths, they are all deeply aligned in a shared vision: intuitive storytelling, refined composition, and an appreciation for the in-between moments that make a wedding day feel alive.

We were initially drawn to your style. Is working with your team a similar experience?

We do! So much so that I’ve even borrowed from my team occasion! All of us are well equipped with all the tools and back-ups we’ll need to photograph your wedding with creative and technical confidence.

Do you all use the same equipment?

Every wedding photographed for MSP is edited in-house to maintain consistency with the signature style you see on our website. We collaborate closely throughout the editing process, ensuring that your final gallery reflects the timeless, refined look that defines our work. Just like every other MSP client, you can expect your carefully edited, high-resolution digital files delivered in a beautiful online gallery within eight weeks of your wedding day.

What about editing? How will our images be processed?

I value the importance of building a relationship with your wedding photographer and want you to have the opportunity to develop that rapport with whomever you work with! For this reason, if you choose to work with one of my team photographers, they will be your primary point of contact throughout your inquiry and pre-event planning. I’ll be sure to touch base along the way to make sure things are running smoothly, but you should always feel that you have a direct line of contact with both your specific photographer and me.

Who do we communicate with leading up to the wedding day?

Absolutely. Please inquire with us and we would be glad to send you full gallery links.

Can we see any full galleries from the team?

It’s easy! Once you have landed on a specific wedding package, I’ll draft up a contract and invoice for your review and submission. To reserve your date, I simply need a signed contract and a non-refundable reservation fee. If your wedding requires travel, I’ll also need the expenses paid at the time of booking to ensure travel costs are as quoted. Weddings taking place more than 2 hours’ drive from your photographer’s home will require travel accommodations.

This all sounds great. How do we book?
